College student? Teenager? Living in one room? Rooms can get very messy when you do so much living in one room, and when it's messy it can be nearly impossible to find anything and just looking at the mess can really start bugging us. It can also be embarrassing when you have someone over. Here is a quick disposition you can use to establish your room quickly. Give yourself a few tools and just 30 minutes and your room can be in much great shape!
Begin by picking up any clothes first. Hang up or put away anything that is clean, and you can start a load of laundry while working on the rest of the room. If you don't already have a laundry bag or basket, be sure to put one on your shopping list.

Empty boxes or bins are great for when you need to clean up. Pre-sort and dump things into them to get the place looking great quickly. Then you can go through what's in the containers and deal with the items properly. Bins that just fit under your bed are handy when you need to get the place looking good for business and don't have a lot of time.
If you have a lot of papers and books, keep a trash can close by, have one bag or box to place books and any other item you no longer need to keep, and one box for all your papers. Work quickly. Put away books you are currently using. Put the books and any other things you don't need in one box to trade in or otherwise give away soon. Throw out everything you maybe can. If you eat in your room, you may also want a box for dishes and other kitchen items to put away. When you have collected the box of papers, you can take it in front of the t.v. Or computer and sort it while you watch a movie, again with a trash can nearby. That makes the chore a puny more pleasant. Be sure to sort the papers soon or you'll just wind up with a lot of containers of papers and it won't be easy to find things you need!
After you've handled your clothes, books, papers, and so forth, take a quick look at your room for finishing touches. Make your bed, water your plants, and if you feel your room needs it, clean, sweep, or vacuum. You're now done with your clean up.
One thing to all the time keep in mind: It's less work and easier to keep your room clean and orderly when you have fewer things! It's foremost to toss out or give away everything that you don't really use or really love. If you wonder if you really need it, you can all the time put it in a box with a big interrogate mark and the date on it and put it away in your closet. If you don't go into your box in a join months, chances are perfect you'll never miss it.
